Book Donations

WOULD YOU LIKE TO DONATE BOOKS TO THE NORFOLK HISTORICAL SOCIETY?

pioneer sketches-owens.jpgWe welcome books that pertain to life and history of the 19th and 20th Century in Canada and Colonial America, and especially anything relating to Norfolk County.

Examples include old history books or maps, discontinued history textbooks, old nature guides, books on traditional crafts and trades (from quilting and needlework to iron foundry or furniture-making). We also welcome family histories prepared by your in-house genealogists.

We check donated books carefully to determine how they may best be used. Some may be added to our archives for reference purposes; a few might be used in our Children's Discovery Room. Others may benefit the Norfolk Historical Society by being sold in our Gift Shop or at the annual Norfolklore Genealogy Fair.

Bring your book donations to the Eva Brook Donly Museum & Archives at 109 Norfolk St. South in Simcoe, ON. You will be asked to sign off on the donation, authorizing the Norfolk Historical Society to use the donation as it sees fit.

Please note that donors of personal family histories may stipulate that their items not be sold.

To prearrange a donation or to ask questions please call 519-426-1583, or email us.
