Hands down, our most popular exhibit last year was Arts of China, a celebration of the arts and culture of one of Norfolk County's most important economic trading partners. (For over a century Norfolk-grown gensing has been exported to China.)

For most of November and December 2004, we hosted a travelling Royal Museum of Ontario exhibit entitled Arts of China, supplementing it with an amazing variety of pieces from private local collections. Thousands of people toured this exhibition.

One of the things that made this exhibit such a hit was the participation of Chinese students studying in Norfolk as part of a student exchange program. When it came time for our annual members' Christmas party, we carried over the Arts of China theme, and these students provided the entertainment.

Moments before Lian Lui performed her karaoke song, she asked us to videotape it so she could mail a DVD of her performance home to her parents in China. Shot on the fly with zero preparation and using a single camcorder, we did as she asked, and like the results so much we thought you'd like to see it too.

Lian Sings is not MTV material. No one thought it should be. (It more closer mirrors an American Bandstand appearance.) But it was a highlight of our annual Christmas party. Enjoy!
