The second weekend of May 2006 the NHC got together with museums in Delhi, Port Dover, Teeterville, and Waterford and other organizations to co-sponsor a local exhibit of collectibles and antiques at Norfolk County Fairgrounds.

Exhibition space sold out fast as 13 local collectors and over 20 area antique dealers displayed an impressive variety of objects of interest both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Vinyl records from the 1950s and 1960s, historic postcards, books, dolls and toys from several eras, first and second World War uniforms, photos and memorabilia, century old documents, furniture and ads, baseball cards, road signs, dishes, cookware and art, even Simcoe's oldest fire truck.

The lowest price we noticed was Free, the highest $1300. Of course collectors tend to trade as much as buy and sell, or just show and tell. It was a great chance to meet the curators, appraisers, and others, both professional and amateur, who share your passion.

We got there early, before the crowd, for a quick look around, camcorder in hand. The accompanying 8-minute video is the result. Will we see you at the next Norfolk Nostalgia?
