The following is a summary of the Norfolk Historical Society's Strategic Plan 2005.

Goals and Objectives

Goal 1: Improve the adminstrative efficiency and direction of the 
Norfolk Historical Society 
Objectives: Hire a General Manager who will be responsible for improving the administrative efficiency and direction of the NHS and the 
Eva Brook Donly Museum
Relieve the Curator of administrative responsibilities to focus on his curatorial responsibilities
Goal 2: Develop more wide ranging and effective use of the
Norfolk Historical Society  facilities
Objectives: Develop a two-year calendar of planned activities and maintain the program calendar two years ahead at all times
Develop a series of committees with participation by NHS members and Board members to assist with planning and implementing on-going activities and special events
Have one major display each year, including lecture series, and three smaller displays each year
Make best use of historical Mulkins House in order to allow for 
newer displays while preserving the heritage/museum status.
Tour other museum facilites annually
Goal 3: Market the Norfolk Heritage Centre both locally and 
as s tourist destination 
Objectives: Position the NHC in the eyes of our community as an educational resource and entertainment option as well as being a guardian of their communal history
Develop and maintain a partnering relationship with Norfolk County that allows the NHC to utilize their marketing resources to promote the NHC beyond our own community
Goal: 4 Enable the NHS to reach a sustainable financial footing through use of an ongoing fundraising program
Objectives: Establish the fundraising program
Increase revenue generated from sale of products and 
from the NHC website
Expand revenue by gaining large corporate sponsor and doubling 
the number of small business members in 2005
