Display Committee Report by Lynne Hagan

Next page

This has been the Year of Edgar Cantelon.

With an extensive collection of Cantelon paintings at our fingertips, we rotated most of the collection that had to do with buildings, towns, and local scenery.

We began with the Town of Simcoe and then went into the lakeside communities for the summer, from Selkirk to Long Point. In the fall we presented those inland hamlets of Norfolk County that Cantelon painted.

The Christmas display was an incredible collection of Cantelon paintings from private collections -- never before assembled under one roof. It was a great success.

I am sorry to report that the Display Committee as such, has now disbanded, and the job they did for so many years must now be done by others. My sincere thanks to them all.
