This is an extract of pertinent information for people in Oakwood cemetery.  The  information comes from the headstones, burial records & obituaries. Owing to error in both the transcribing and recording please look for your name under various spellings and always check with the original document. Work is continuing on this project with expectation that more dates will be done.

We have a wonderful collection of maps and atlases, they are listed in the indexes below. The contents are surprising.

folder icon 3 CENSUS INDEX

The Norfolk Historical Society has the various year's census available to view. They are as follows:
1851 Census of Norfolk County and all other Counties of Ontario existing at that time
1861 Census of Norfolk and the majority of other Counties but may be missing some cities.
1871 Census of Norfolk and all other counties and most cities.
1881 Census of Norfolk plus a CD of some of the counties.
1891 Census of Norfolk
1901 Census of Norfolk and many other counties and cities
1911 Census is available on Automated Genealogy.

On the website we are presenting the INDEX of the 1851 census for researchers. The 1861 Index is being worked on at present. You may come to the research room at the Eva Brook Donly Museum to view the full census data in three ring binders or on microfilm. You may email [email protected] or write us to have the full data sent to you for a nominal fee. See Research Help for costs, etc.

These are the Vital Statistics for Birth - Marriage & Deaths for Norfolk County in the years governed byt the Privacy of Information access guideline as established by the Registar of General of Ontario. They begin in 1869 and as of 2008 are available as follows:

Births to 1910 - Marriages to 1925 - Deaths to 1935

1911, 1926 and 1936 respectively will be coming soon. They are in the works. 

The Index is shown in Adobe PDF format and is easily searchable using the Search Binoculars or Find options. Adobe versions differ.

They will be shown in eight PDF documents.

NOTE: Individual copies may be ordered for C$5.00  per Vital Statistic page. Check the Research menu and PLAN C.
