Chasing Canada's History with Author Ken McGoogan

Ken McGoogan, the award-winning author of more than a dozen books, has been chasing history for over twenty years. He brings this adventure to life with an illustrated presentation built around his bestselling works, which include Fatal Passage, Lady Franklin’s Revenge, 50 Canadians Who Changed the World, How the Scots Invented Canada, and Celtic Lightning. A former journalist who has worked at three of Canada’s top newspapers, Ken will talk about sailing in the Northwest Passage while researching four books, and about exploring Scotland and Ireland for two more. His awards include the Pierre Berton Award for History, the Drainie-Taylor Biography Prize, an American Christopher Award “for a work of artistic excellence,” and the University of British Columbia medal for Canadian biography. Ken voyages with Adventure Canada as an author-historian, and teaches creative nonfiction at the University of Toronto and in the new MFA program at University of King’s College in Halifax.
